Take Self Care to a New Level in 2021

Taking care of yourself is  vital to surviving and thriving as a creative soul. Unfortunately, self-care is often given the back seat in our lives with everything else taking priority, but there’s no doubt in my mind that if we put self-care at the top of our list for just one year (or longer!) of our life, the results would be astounding. Self-care can take many forms here are some ideas you might have not even thought about:

For example: Have a little date night with yourself at least once a month! Spoil yourself by treating yourself out to dinner or doing something fun. You deserve it!   Get up an hour early each morning and meditate.  Here is how you can take care of yourself better in 2021.

Get Infrared Therapy Treatments

Infrared light has the ability to penetrate deep within your skin, muscles and bone. It is a type of red light that supports deeper oxygenated blood flow which leads to healthier cells. Infrared saunas have been used in Europe for years and there are many healthcare professionals who believe that they have powerful health benefits. That belief would include increasing metabolism, inducing relaxation, stress relief, reducing chronic pain and helping with depression.  Since infrared sauna treatments support all body systems their benefits go far beyond just weight loss!

Oh – and if you are curious, infrared therapy is a completely non-invasive way to improve your health and well being!

CBD

Getting some CBD from Orange Peels might be a great idea for your health in 2021. If you have never heard about CBD, then now is the perfect time to read up on this amazing product that contains no THC (something many people want to avoid when taking supplements).

CBD doesn’t just affect your body either; it also affects your brain and mood. A few drops of CBD oil under your tongue could help reduce anxiety and depression… and did I mention it tastes like oranges? No wonder Orange Peels are so popular!

This wonderful substance has also been known to help with inflammation, joint pain and even is believed to have positive effects on cancer cells!

Get Your Hair Right

Your hair is very  symbolic of your health and wellbeing. I know you’ve heard that a million times, but it’s true!

When my family started growing our own food years ago we stopped using all sorts of chemicals, including hair products. We didn’t realize what we were getting into at first as we had never grown any foods before… especially not things like herbs that are necessary to make essential oils or for organic vanilla extract (one of the gifts I give everyone). The learning curve was steep but once we got going things really took off.

Always believe in doing everything naturally when possible so here is one thing we did: No more toxic hair care products . Instead, we started making our own homemade shampoo , conditioner  and other natural beauty concoctions. You might want to check out Prose hair

These days people are hooked on an essential oil blend that smells delicious and has all sorts of benefits. 8 drops in a palm full of baking soda makes the most amazing shampoo! Also add it to your conditioner to enhance the hair-nourishing power.

Don’t Be Afraid of The Occasional Drink

An occasional drink can be a good thing. And with all of the research now coming out showing that 1-2 drinks per day is far better for your health than abstinence, it’s ok to have a drink or two here and there. We still don’t know everything about alcohol consumption and we definitely need more research done on this topic but maybe someday we’ll know for sure if drinking a glass of wine at dinner will positively affect our long term health! Try out Mezcal for a unique experience.

Take Pride in Your Appearance

You know a person is high on life if they take care of themselves and are proud of how they look.  Not only do you have more energy when you feel good about yourself but you even walk differently! People can tell that you’re feeling better when your posture is good and the way you carry yourself says a lot about who you are. When people see someone with confidence, they assume that this person has a ton going for them too!

Some ways to practice taking pride in how you look: Get a massage or go dancing . Wear clothes that fit well – Obviously spending money on great clothing is not always an option but wearing loose clothing can really affect your self esteem.

Get Herbs For Your Immune System

One of the most important things you can do is take herbs to strengthen your immune system. Don’t let colds or flu get you down – pick up some garlic cloves or consider a tincture like this one that contains these special immune support mushrooms.

Herbs for immune system can boost your health in many different ways including:

Immune support – Quite obvious, as they strengthen the entire system. The more energy you have, the better chance you can fight off invaders! Antioxidants to help with free radicals . Garlic contains S-allyl cysteine which is said to be even stronger than garlic itself at killing germs due to its antioxidant properties (along with allicin and other sulfur compounds).

Help regulate hormones – Some herbs such as ginseng and echinacea are known for normalizing hormone levels. This helps us feel more stable emotionally and physically. Those who suffer from autoimmune disorders may see improvement when supplementing certain herbs that support a healthy immune system.

Get a Manicure At Home

If you’re like me and don’t go to a nail salon, there’s no excuse anymore. Get yourself some proper tools (a special tool for cutting your nails is a good investment) and enjoy doing it at home! It turns into something fun that you look forward to each week and leaves your nails looking gorgeous.

There are many different types of manicures with various benefits. Here is a guide on what the most common types do for you:

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure – Protects against chipping, cracking, peeling and fading for up to two weeks. There is nothing more relaxing than getting an at home manicure while basking in candle light.

Exfoliate Regularly

Keeping your skin smooth and soft can make a huge difference to how you feel about yourself. The more you exfoliate, the younger looking and happier your skin will look.

Treating your body with gentle scrubs like this one or even just using plain sugar in coconut oil is one of the most inexpensive ways to care for yourself! For a better experience with exfoliation, try Spongelle

To conclude, diet and exercise are still very important of course but there’s no reason to neglect your mental health by not taking care of yourself. Eating well is great but we still need to take time for ourselves mentally and emotionally. Doing so can make a huge difference in our overall health.

It can make you more confident and give you the motivation to pursue your goals. The Internet can be a great place for self care if used correctly. Follow the tips that we talked about here, and  you’ll be on your way to a better life. Basically, the more you care for yourself, the more awesome things can happen in your life!
